So whilst there is a separation in culture between the generations, even within the culture one is raised within, for how many of us live the same lives as our grandparents or even our parents, it doesn’t mean that our heritage isn’t important nor does it reduce it.

As I write this, I’m sitting in my garden, drinking my morning brew in the dark and listening to the rain. At this time of year, there isn’t much of a dawn chorus. That melody is better than any orchestra of man, but even in these darker months, the birds are ever present; the chirps of the sparrows nestled in the thick ivy, the loud and melodic call of the blackbird, clear as a bell as is the robins song. It’s no wonder we, mankind, have a special fascination with these feathered creatures as shown in the vast array of folklore associated with birds.

He comes and goes with the rain and observes the different processes of eco-destruction, sometimes finding pieces of our old gods in the mix. What's going on?

As we sang, “In the midnight hour / I can feel your Power,” late into the night I felt my will in manifestation. Here was an experience I wanted to have, and through my actions and intent I created it. My will was powerful.

Far too many people on each side of the Western world are not realizing what is happening on the other, nor how or why the situations are connected.

We see it time and time again. Hipster foods that make poor brown people starve because they can no longer afford a food that was once their staple; or crops that are grown for cattle to satisfy our demand for ever cheaper meat instead of to feed those people who grow them. It’s not those folks who benefit from this supposed growth. It is not you or I.

This trashcan is called Peace.

As the pressure builds, we know we cannot carry on as we have been doing. We, as a species, will reap what we have sown, in one way or another, for I feel we are too far gone for anything else.

None of this is new, deforestation by the livestock industry dates back to the 1960s. Still, it's good to learn from today's tragedy. More effective than voting is to not support the industries responsible.
