No. While it can certainly be helpful if you have taught online or in-person courses before, we are happy to guide you through the process of course creation and will use our experience successfully teaching courses to help yours be successful, too.

We'd like you to know your subject very well, but you don't need to be an academic. If you've written a book on a subject, then designing a course with that book as the primary text is ideal. Or, if you work professionally in the subject area or have a lot of life experience with the subject, that's great, too.

Once your course proposal is accepted, we'll guide you through the rest of the process. This will include recording video lectures, creating text downloads, and other elements.

You don't pay us anything.

Initial set-up costs are €500, but we recoup these costs from enrollment revenue, not from an up-front fee. This compensates us for the initial work of video editing and processing, text layout, and other work to set up your course.

Also, if you are already an author with Ritona Books or our sister imprints (Gods&Radicals Press, Sul Books, or Sphinx), we fully waive these set-up costs.

You will receive two-thirds (66.66%) of all enrollment revenue that we collect from participants of your course. We disburse these funds the same way we disburse royalty payments to our authors, with a full accounting of all revenues. We also disburse these on the same schedule as royalty payments, which is twice a year.
